About TI on AI
I'm Ted Iobst. As President of Stellar– the first marketing agency built for the AI era– I write TI on AI from a unique vantage point. On a daily basis, I see our teams at Stellar transforming the ways we work using AI. Also on a daily basis and also heavily leveraging AI, I work with our partners and clients to solve some of their biggest marketing and business challenges.
In a prior life, I built things at Atlantic Media during one of the most transformative times in digital media (think: 2010 when inbound social traffic had just overtaken search). After a stopover at Wharton, I built Colugo, the world's first D2C baby brand (think: The Warby Parker of Strollers). After selling Colugo, I stayed on with its new owner, taking a direct role in its transformation both in a traditional Private Equity sense as well as leveraging early applications of AI. A core thesis was that AI could transform Colugo's product development function to launch more product, with more certainty, faster into the already strong brand that we had built.
In 2024, I joined Pixis to build what is now Stellar. Since then, we've acquired 10+ agencies to accelerate our growth and have rebuilt them from inside, using our own AI tooling. Recently, more and more clients have come to us with similar questions to those we solved for ourselves – what's the right tech, the right team, the right process to fully leverage AI within our marketing organization? From this has come an entirely new emerging business in Stellar Growth Engine.
